Arranging a wedding is only one concern for the newlywed couple. Renting a suitable apartment is another serious concern which often distresses the couple and their families. The Israeli system of housing, which consists of purchasing an apartment rather than renting one, basically reduces both the option and availability of apartment rental. Consequently, the minority of apartments that are being rented out involve a very high monthly rental rate. This is one of the major obstacles which newly-weds even from middle-class homes, often face. To this end, Yad Ezrah established a complex of sixty apartments which are used exclusively for this purpose. The apartments are rented out to young couples at a discount price for a designated period of time. This assistance allows them to cut their monthly budget until they can arrange a more permanent solution.
