Though Ohr Yerushalayim's printing press was originally founded to provide employment for the mentally challenged, its printing services are utilized by the community as well. Many organizational pamphlets are printed there. The shop offers services in graphics, binding, packaging and distribution for private and communal associations.
Approximately one hundred and ten men are employed in the printing press, each according to his individual capacity. At the printing press, they not only learn a skill and accrue experience, but also acquire a positive self-image, which helps them return to normal living and working.
Hundreds of patients did in fact return to the work force and begin their lives anew. Many have remained at the printing press in order to become caretakers for others who are experiencing what they've overcome. The center is directed by outstanding professionals, and is supervised by physicians, The Ministry of Health, The Ministry of Labor and The Welfare Department.
