In conjunction with the printing press, Ohr Yerushalayim manages and directs a sewing and embroidery division which serves as a rehabilitation center for women who are mentally challenged. The unit manufactures a variety of merchandise; children's clothes, embroidered tapestries and creations, kippot and other religious articles. These commodities are then sold to the public. This division serves several invaluable purposes. Firstly, it is a secure place for women who have been seriously abused. In addition, the women are also productively occupied, feeling a true sense of fulfillment over their accomplishments, thus enhancing their self esteem and inner confidence. Since many of these women live either in hospitals for the mentally disturbed or in supervised living quarters, this division serves as a valuable rehabilitative means for enabling them to return to their very own homes, restoring them to normal living once again.
